Charter telephone 911 outage resolved

UPDATE: 6:48 p.m.

The Charter Telephone 911 outage for Marquette County customers is now over.

Staff from the National Weather Service site in Negaunee Township say Charter fully repaired the service shortly after 6:30 tonight.

Marquette County telephone customers of Charter Communications are unable to dial 911 at the moment.

Marquette County Central Dispatch says the outage was reported shortly after 4:00 p.m. Sunday. Charter is aware of the outage and is working on it. There’s no estimate from the company of when service may be restored.

Charter telephone customers in the county who need emergency police, fire or EMS assistance have two options.

911 will still work when dialed from a cell phone. Central Dispatch says customers may also call them at (906) 475-9912.
