Lights of Love submissions due Nov. 20
Each year, the Portage Hospital Auxiliary decorates and lights a Christmas tree in honor or memory of relatives and friends. The tree will once again be lit this holiday season, and the call for people to honor and remember is underway.
To honor or remember a loved one or friend, submit their name and a donation of at least $5 to the auxiliary. You can donate online at portaghealth.org/lightsoflove, or stop by the Guilded Rose Gift Shop in the hospital’s lobby to fill out a form.The auxiliary is looking to have all names submitted by Wednesday, Nov. 20 to guarantee recognition during the tree-lighting ceremony on Wednesday, Dec. 4, and placement on the poster that will be near the tree through the holiday season.
Money raised from Lights of Love will go to a scholarship fund to help local young people realize their dreams of becoming healthcare providers. Over the many years of this scholarship, our community has benefited because many of these students have returned to our area to provide healthcare after finishing their schooling.
