Cars for sale totaled in hit & run

Two cars up for sale on the lot of an auto center in Gwinn were totaled over the weekend.

Forysth Township Police say a Chevrolet pickup truck ran the corner off of M-35, sometime between 2:00 and 5:00 Sunday morning, before smashing into two cars up for sale at Mike’s Auto Center. The perpetrator, who is still at large, then proceeded to leave the scene. Police say the vehicle in question will have a heavily damaged front end, particularly on the driver’s side.

Employees at Mike’s Auto Center have found a few pieces of the truck responsible for the damage, since then. After looking at a date stamp on one of the headlights, they were able to determine that the truck was made sometime between 2004 and 2006. A closer look at the indentation left behind by the truck, leads them to believe that the truck was black.
