Wildcats XC team ranked nationally

For the third time in school history, the Northern Michigan University cross country team is ranked in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division II National Coaches Poll.

The Lady ‘Cats are ranked 20th this week in the USTFCCCA Poll. The Wildcats are ranked fifth in the Midwest Region.

NMU will host the U.P. Championship on Friday, Oct. 18, at the NMU Golf Course. The Wildcats will compete against Lake Superior State, Michigan Tech, Finlandia, and Gogebic Community College.

The UP Championship begins with the women’s 4-kilometer race at 4 p.m., followed by the men’s 6-kilometer race at 4:45 p.m.
