Man facing charges after driving vehicle into school
Charges have been filed against a 29-year-old man from Ishpeming who drove his vehicle into Ishpeming High School.
The man is charged with OUI, leaving the scene of an accident, and attempting/resisting police.
The Ishpeming Police Department says the man was taken into custody at his home on New York Street and was uncooperative during the investigation.
Police say a 1999 Jeep Cherokee had struck Ishpeming High School just before 2 a.m. Saturday morning. The vehicle was sticking part way into a classroom.
Witnesses saw the driver flee the scene and take off on foot.
