Motorcycle accident sends man to hospital

A motorcyclist is in the hospital after colliding with a minivan in Ishpeming.

It happened just after 9:00 Tuesday night on U.S. 41 in front of the Burger King, when a minivan that was attempting to make a left-hand turn onto the highway pulled out in front of a motorcycle heading eastbound. Police say the driver of the van did not see the bike at the time. The motorcycle’s lone occupant suffered unknown injuries, none of which are life threatening. Several occupants were in the van at the time of the collision, but no injuries have been reported. No names, conditions or charges are being released by the Ishpeming Police Department at this time. Bell Hospital EMS and the Ishpeming City Fire Department assisted on scene.
