Houghton City Manager steps down

Houghton City Manager Scott MacInnes will step down in February. His contract runs until the end of next year, but he said council members felt the transition would be best made earlier than that so the new manager would be in place for the budget process.

MacInnes began his career with the city in 1974 as recreation director. He eventually became assistant city manager under Ray Kestner and took over the top job when Kestner retired in 1997.
