Missing girl found safe and sound

A 15-year-old Gladstone girl that had been missing for close to 24 hours is now safe and sound.

Sabrina Rae Helwig-Hoffman was located by Gladstone Public Safety officers just after 7:00 p.m. Authorities are continuing their investigation into her disappearance, but details are not likely to be released given her juvenile status.

Helwig-Hoffman was last seen near Subway around 8:15 p.m. Monday night. She was reportedly heard making comments about harming herself after her boyfriend broke up with her. Several attempts to reach her by cell phone had been fruitless, but now she has been located thanks to an orchestrated effort by the Delta County Sheriff’s Department, Escanaba Public Safety, the Michigan State Police.the Gladstone Volunteer Fire Department, the Escanaba Township Fire Department, the Delta County Search and Rescue Team, the Marquette Police Department and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Teens.
