Forsyth Township gets police vehicle grant

U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, Chairwoman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, today announced a Rural Development Grant for Forsyth Township. The grant, made available through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Community Facilities Grant Program, will be used to purchase a new police vehicle to help the Township serve and protect local residents.

“We depend on our men and women in uniform to be there in times of crisis, and they depend on us for the support they need to do their jobs,” said Stabenow. “This funding will help Forsyth Township perform their duties and protect the public.”

Forsyth Township will receive $7,000 to help replace its current vehicle, which is nearing the end of its useful lifespan. Stabenow is Chairwoman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, which has jurisdiction over rural development projects.
