Snyder makes condolence statement for Washington Navy Yard victims
Governor Rick Snyder is expressing his condolences to the families of the Washington Navy Yard shooting victims. His statement reads:
“The men and women of our armed forces — and the civilians who help them — work to protect and defend our country and our freedoms. They deserve our appreciation and respect.
“The senseless violence that claimed the lives of people and left others wounded in the Washington Navy Yard is unthinkable, and leaves a mark of sadness on the hearts of all Michiganders.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of those killed and hurt, along with their friends and colleagues and all of the brave men and women serving our country and putting themselves in harm’s way.”
Governor Snyder is also reminding Michigan residents of President Obama’s call for American flags to be flown at half-staff at public buildings and grounds. Flags should be returned to full-staff this Friday, September 20th.
