A Calumet man has died after crashing a moped Friday afternoon in Houghton County.

Martin Locatelli, 65, was traveling north on M-26 near Junction Road in Oceola Township when he lost control of his moped and crashed.

Locatelli was transported to Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital and where he pronounced dead.

Troopers from the Michigan State Police at the Calumet Post said he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and believe alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
