Former school principal sent to prison
A former school principal in Alger County will spend five to 15 years in prison for child sexual abuse.
Thirty-five-year-old Benjamin Franklin II received his sentence in Alger County Circuit Court this morning.
He pleaded guilty in July to one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Franklin is the former principal of the Munising Baptist School in Wetmore.
Between 2011 and this year, he sexually abused a 16-to-18-year-old female student.
The Alger County Prosecutor’s Office dropped charges involving another alleged victim in exchange for Franklin’s guilty plea.
