Wire tied across ORV trail

A Wisconsin teenager may face one charge of felonious assault with intent to kill or inflict serious injury after tying a wire across an ORV trail in Ontonagon.

A DNR Conservation officer and an Ontonagon Sheriff deputy were called to the Firesteel bridge area of Ontonagon on July 23rd in response to reports of a 16-year-old boy striking his throat on wire while riding his ORV on a nearby trail. Officers were unable to locate the wire at the time, but an investigation into the incident revealed that a different 16-year-old boy from Larsen, Wisconsin was believed to be the perpetrator.

The extent of the injuries suffered by the boy who struck his throat are unknown at this time. No further information has been released to date, but we will have more information on this story as it becomes available.
