Two arrested in Ontonagon Co.

A police investigation in Ontonagon County has landed two men in jail.  On Tuesday, troopers from the Wakefield Post of the Michigan State Police were investigating several breaking and enterings in the area.

During the investigation, troopers learned information about a suspect who had possession of stolen property in Matchwood Township. Warrants were issued for the arrest of the subject, and the search of his home.

Troopers arrested a 34-year-old man for felon in possession of firearms. Police say that while searching his home, a 33-year-old man was also arrested for felon in possession of firearms.

The two men are lodged in the Ontonagon County Jail on $50,000 bonds. Their names are being withheld pending arraignment. A K-9 unit from the Calumet Post of the Michigan State Police assisted in the case.
