New Senior Living Community breaks ground
A new housing neighborhood has broken ground on the northern end of Harlow Farms Conservation Community in Marquette.
The Mill Creek Commons will be a 14 unit, private pay Senior Independent Living project located just across the street from Mill Creek Assisted Living on a 2.4 acre plot. The community will feature seven duplex cottages with two types of units. Each will be comprised of less than 1,000 square feet of living area, and two bedrooms with single attached garages. Every unit’s floor plan runs on one level.
The Commons will provide housekeeping, 24-hour emergency assistance through Mill Creek Assisted Living, some meals, home services, and activities hosted at Mill Creek. The projected development costs are an estimated $2.6 million and will create and sustain construction and service jobs. LR Swadley expects the project to be completed over the next two years with the first units going on the market later this fall.
