Historic homes on display
If you have ever wanted to step inside of a time machine and get a view into the past, this weekend in Ishpeming you have that chance. The 11th annual Historic Homes Tour is Sunday in Ishpeming. This year the tour features five historic homes and businesses. And whether you’re a history buff or just looking to learn about the homes and the city of Ishpeming, the tour has a little something for everyone.
“Have them take a walk through history, if you want to think about it like that,” Ishpeming Area Historical Society President Susan Boback said, “Learn some of the constructions or some of the stories of the early people in that home. For instance, someone’s’ name etched in a glass window.”
Tickets cost $8.00 and can be purchased at the Main Street Antique Mall in Ishpeming, or the Mid–Town Cafe in Negaunee, as well as any of the homes on the day of the tour. The tours run from noon to 5 p.m.
