The Third Street Village area of Marquette is opening itself up to potential shoppers and local music buffs.
The Marquette Downtown Development Authority started the Music On Third series in 2011, and it’s returning for a new season Thursday evening.
The event gives local musicians a chance to get some more exposure while giving residents’ ears a treat.
“We have an eclectic mix of local musicians and bands that will play streetside outside local businesses along Third Street,” said Marquette DDA marketing and administrative assistant Lizzie Corser. “We have musicians ranging from Eclettico String Quartet to Logjam to the Union Suits.”
There’ll also be an open jam at Blackrocks Brewery.
Not only does Music On Third take place on Third Street, it happens on the third Thursday of the month.
“It’s a great opportunity for families, couples and individuals to enjoy some of the summer sunshine and the 100 unique businesses, restaurants and shops that line Third Street,” Corser said.
After tomorrow, Music On Third will return on the third Thursdays of both July and August.
