Fatal accident in Alger Co.
A 70-year-old man has died after a one car accident in Alger County Wednesday afternoon.
Troopers from the Munising Detachment of the Negaunee Post of the Michigan State Police say a 2003 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Paul Walker was traveling on southbound H-13 near the Coalwood Grade.
His vehicle left the roadway and struck several trees. Walker was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries from the crash.
Alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors in the accident, and Walker was wearing a seat belt.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
The Alger County Ambulance, Munising Township Fire Department and an Accident Investigator from the Michigan State Police all assisted at the scene.
