Grazulis, Uren to play at Tech

Following another successful season in which his team won a share of the GLIAC North Title and made the NCAA Tournament, Kevin Luke was bound to have a solid recruiting class for the 2013-14 season. Coach Luke didn’t have to go very far from Houghton to pick up his latest recruits.

Marquette forward A.J. Grazulis and Negaunee guard Tanner Uren will both walk-on at Tech next season. Both players had successful senior season for their schools.

Grazulis helped guide the Redmen to a Great Northern Conference Championship and the teams first District Title since 2009. He was named to the Class ABC First Team by the Upper Peninsula Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association.

Uren was an instrumental part in the Miners success the past three seasons. Like Grazulis, Uren was a Class ABC First Team selection by the UPSSA.

Both players are expected to redshirt this season. With the addition of Grazulis and Uren, the Huskies will have six freshman on the team this fall.

Ewen-Trout Creek guard Dillon Gordon committed to play at MTU back in April. The other Huskies recruits include Jason Hawke (London, Ont.), Luke Cordes (Alpena H.S.), and Quinton Harris (Bellevue H.S.).
