The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department has arrested two men on charges of breaking and entering and possession of marijuana.
Authorities say they received two calls of breaking and entering into homes in Trout Lake Township. They received one of the calls last Thursday and the other call on Saturday night. After investigating those calls, the Sheriff’s Department obtained a search warrant for a house on Vertz Road.
Deputies found the two suspects inside the home on Monday night while executing the search warrant. During the search, one of the deputies fell through a trap door in the home’s floor and found a marijuana growing operation.
The suspects were arrested and taken to the Chippewa County Jail. The Sheriff’s Department is investigating whether these break–ins are related to others that have taken place in the area over the last year.
