A Wisconsin man is once again facing child sex abuse charges in Houghton County. 26–year–old Chad Lapointe formerly of Houghton was arraigned in Houghton County Circuit Court today on four charges:  one count of 2nd degree Criminal Sexual Conduct with a victim under 13 years old, one count of 4th degree CSC with a victim 13 to 16 years old, and two counts of Accosting A Child For Immoral Purposes. Lapointe pleaded not guilty to all charges.

If convicted, he could get 15 years in prison on the most serious charge and have to wear a lifetime electronic monitoring device. The charges stem from two separate incidents within the past year. He is also facing charges of failing to register as a sex offender and entering a student safety zone.

Lapointe had been sentenced to nine months in April 2012 for attempted third degree CSC. A pretrial hearing will be held in about 30 days. Lapointe is being held in the Houghton County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
