Update on US 41 three car accident
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of the people involved in yesterday’s three car accident on US 41 in Marquette Township.
Lester Passinault, an 86-year-old Marquette man, was driving a 2008 GMC Acadia when he pulled out of Lowe’s Home Improvement store into the path of a westbound 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Traci Champion, a 39-year-old Ishpeming woman.
Police say that, after the initial crash, Passinault’s vehicle was forced into the path of an eastbound 2009 Pontiac G6 driven by Mary Keough, a 62-year-old Marquette woman.
MediRide EMS transported Champion to the Marquette General Emergency Room for treatment. None of Champion’s injuries were life threatening. Passinault and Keough sough their own medical treatment for neck and back pain.
Passinault was cited for Failure to Yield the right of way.
The crash occurred about 1:15 p.m. Thursday in Marquette Township near the intersection of U.S. 41 and County Road HIA.
The Marquette Township Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.
