Police in Dickinson County have identified the Illinois man who died Wednesday while repairing a well. Michigan State Police from the Iron Mountain Post say he is 77-year-old James Ennis of Orland Park, Illinois.
Ennis Climbed into a 12 foot-deep well in Waucedah Township Wednesday afternoon to repair it.
Police say a friend lowered dry ice into the well. The dry ice reacted and removed the oxygen from the bottom of the well. Ennis lost consciousness while trying to climb out.
