Finlandia women’s softball team going to NCAA-III tourney

The 2012-13 Finlandia University women’s softball team, coached by Sean Hendrickson, finished the regular season with an overall win/loss record of 25-6, and took 1st place in the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) softball championship April 27.

The GSAC championship earned the Lions an invitation to the NCAA D-III softball tournament, which is Finlandia’s first NCAA tournament invitation in any sport.

Below is Finlandia’s NCAA Whitewater Regional tournament schedule, which takes place in Whitewater, Wisconsin. Team representatives say the players would be thrilled to see fans in the stands and would be grateful for support.

Thursday, May 9, 10:00 a.m. CST = Whitewater, WI, vs. University of Wisconsin-Whitewater

Friday, May 10, 10:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. = Opponent and final time TBA.
