Alger Co. alcohol-related accident injures driver

A Gwinn woman was injured early this morning in Alger County when she reportedly lost control of her vehicle and hit a guardrail on M-28. Troopers from the Negaunee Post of the Michigan State Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash that injured 30-year-old Cori Lumbert.

Troopers say the accident happened at 4:46 a.m. Wednesday on M-28 near M-94 in Munising Township.

Lumbert was taken to Marquette General Hospital by Alger County EMS.  She was admitted to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Hospital officials say she is listed in serious condition.

The Alger County Extrication Unit also assisted at the scene.
