Fatal accident in Baraga Co.
One man is dead after his pickup truck collided with a logging truck on US–41 in Covington Township.
The Baraga County Sheriff’s Office says 53–year–old Randy Garceau of Ishpeming collided with the logging truck driven by 47–year–old Anthony Beauchamp of Escanaba.
Both men were transported to Baraga County Memorial Hospital where Garceau was pronounced dead. Beauchamp was treated and released.
Assisting at the scene were The L’Anse Police Department, Michigan State Police, the L’Anse Fire Department, Covington Fire Department, Covington Ambulance and Bay Ambulance.
The accident is still under investigation.
