Driver cited in 2 car Marquette Co. crash

The driver of an SUV was cited for Failure to Yield in an accident that injured four people in a two vehicle accident in Marquette County’s Sands Township.

It happened Saturday night at about 10:15 at the four way stop at M-553 and County Road 480.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says the 64 year old Marquette woman was driving a 2008 GMC Yukon north on M-553 when she hit the second vehicle at the intersection.

The SUV hit the passenger side of a 2001 Mercury Sable station wagon traveling east on County Road 480.  The station wagon was driven by a 41 year old man from Eben Junction.  Four of the five passengers in the Mercury were taken to Marquette General Hospital for complaints of pain and minor injuries.

The driver of the GMC complained of minor head pain but refused treatment at the scene.  All drivers and passengers were wearing seatbelts and the side impact airbag of the Mercury deployed.
