Michigan State Police from the Sault Ste. Marie Post are continuing the investigation into a fatal one-car accident in Chippewa County.
It happened on 6 Mile Road near Brimley. The exact time of the wreck is unknown, but the call to report the accident came in shortly after 5:40 Sunday morning.
A vehicle left the roadway, overturned and struck several trees.
Police believe the deceased individual found inside the vehicle was the driver. Troopers are working to identify the body and the vehicle.
They say no further information will be released until they make an identification and notify the next of kin.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by officers from the Bay Mills Police Department, Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Border Patrol, Bay Mills Emergency Connection Ambulance and the Superior Township Fire Department.
