More winter weather…
Meteorologist Adam Claibon says winter continues its hold on the Upper Peninsula, bringing heavy snow and gusty winds throughout the region.
“The storm has made its greatest impacts on the Keweenaw Peninsula, which is under a blizzard warning until 8 p.m. tonight,” Adam says.
“Another 4 to 8 inches can be expected across the area with winds gusting at or above 55 mph periodically. A winter storm warning continues until 8pm tonight also for Gogebic, Ontonagon, southern Houghton, and Baraga counties with another possible 4 to 6 inches of snow expected and winds 30 to 50 mph, ” according to Adam.
Further east, Adam says a winter weather remains in effect until 8 am Saturday for Marquette, Alger and northern School Craft counties, with another 2 to 6 inches of snow expected and winds gusting 40 to 55 mph.
With the winds and heavy wet snow, power outages are possible, so if you do have generator, please use it safely and wisely. Stay safe and stay warm.
