A roadside lodge was heavily damaged Wednesday in Houghton County after early morning fire.
A fire at Trailside Lodge on U.S. 41 in Calumet Township took three hours to put out. Fire crews got the call at around 3:30 a.m. The fire is believed to have started near the center of the building.
Officials say there was only person staying at the lodge last night. No one was injured.
The state fire marshal will conduct an investigation into the cause of the fire. Fire departments from Calumet Village, Lake Linden, and Allouez Township all assisted at the scene along with the Laurium Fire Department.
