Effort to raise funds for Hungarian Falls

For residents in the Copper Country, the Hungarian Falls in Osceola Township is a place where many good memories have been made.

Recently, the Torch Lake Area Fire Protection Authority decided to offload the upper portion of the falls.  It was a prospect that sparked concern among people who love this location.  That’s when the Keweenaw Land Trust stepped in.

The Keweenaw Land Trust was given the opportunity to raise the money to buy the ten acre property that includes the dam in the Hungarian Forge.

An important piece in the fundraising effort is an event this weekend.

The Dam Jam is being held at the Brownstone Hall in Atlantic Mine Saturday, April 13 starting at 4:30pm.
