New administrator chosen for Mqt. diocese

Catholics in the Upper Peninsula are waiting to hear who Pope Francis will appoint as the new Archbishop of Marquette.

Archbishop Alexander Sample is leading a new flock in Portland, Oregon.  Until his successor is named by Pope Francis, someone is needed to handle his former duties in the Marquette Diocese.  An administrator has been named to watch over the diocese until the new Archbishop is selected.

The College of Consultors has elected Father Francis Dobrzenski, of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden, the new administrator.

As life long Upper Peninsula resident, Father Dobrzenski has been at his current church for about nine years.  He is the first Diocesan Administrator since 1977.
