Mqt. hotel recognized for cleanliness

An Upper Peninsula hotel is being recognized as one of the cleanest places in the world in which guests can stay.

The Hampton Inn hotel chain has nearly 1,400 properties around the world.

Last July, one of them opened in Marquette’s Founders Landing area.

And the Marquette Hampton Inn is apparently one of the cleanest hotels in the entire chain.

It came in at number three for cleanliness among all Hampton Inns around the world.

Guest feedback determines the ranking.

Only cleanliness scores of nine or ten out of ten on surveys count toward the ranking; a score of eight is worth the same as a zero.

Hilton compiles the rankings because the Hampton Inn brand is part of Hilton Worldwide.

The Marquette Hampton Inn has 84 guest rooms.
