Marquette Township working on new fire hall

For emergency crews, having the proper equipment to respond to an incident is an essential part of the job.  But so is having a facility to house the equipment and personnel.

The Marquette Township Fire Department is looking forward to the opening of a new building. The current one is more than 35 years old and the department has outgrown it.  Staff says the current building hinders many of the operations that need to be performed at the station by the firefighters.

Chief Sims says the new hall is expected to open sometime this summer.
