Benishek votes in support of 2013 House Budget Plan

WASHINGTON, DC: Dr. Dan Benishek (MI-01) today released the following statement after voting in support of the 2013 House Budget Plan that will reduce federal spending and balance the federal budget in the next ten years:

“This budget plan is all about creating jobs and getting Washington’s wasteful spending under control. This budget isn’t perfect, but it’s a reasonable plan that reduces spending and balances the budget in 10 years. Up here in Northern Michigan, families always have to balance their budgets, so it’s time that Washington starts doing the same. Balancing the budget will mean families in Northern Michigan will see higher paychecks and more job opportunities. It will also give our kids and grandkids a shot at the future they deserve. I am hopeful now that the House has once again passed a budget, the Senate can pass a version of their own and then both sides can hash it out and move forward. That’s what’s best for the American people.”
