NMU and Michigan Tech were battling today to see which university could do the most good by encouraging people to donate blood.
This afternoon, NMU hosted its half of the 13th annual Blood Drive Challenge.
The drive is sponsored by the NMU Volunteer Center.
Students, faculty, staff and other community members were encouraged to donate.
And when we stopped by, NMU appeared to be keeping pace with Tech’s total.
In January, when Michigan Tech held its half of the challenge in Houghton, 109 blood donors showed up.
NMU collected 74 pints of blood today, so Tech has won the challenge for the second time in three years.
