“The Sound of Music” at Negaunee High School

The Negaunee High School Music Department has only been in existence for three years, and they are already performing a long list classic plays and musicals.

Their latest production is Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “The Sound of Music”, directed by Connie Lindblom.  The 70 student production has been rehearsing since mid-January.  Members of the Negaunee High School Band and Orchestra also provided music for the play.

The musical has a wide-range in acting talent.  Students have been in the musical club for all three years; others have been extras in plays and some have even been in 15 productions.

There are performances of “The Sound of Music” Saturday at 7 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Negaunee High School auditorium.

Tickets are $5 for students and $ 10 for adults.
