Negaunee teachers donate books

U.P. teachers got together this afternoon to contribute to the libraries at each school in their district.

Members of the Negaunee Education Association thought recently that it would be a good idea to donate books to their own libraries.

Many of them met at Lakeview Elementary School this afternoon.

They collected the books and gave each book their own personal touch.

MEA President Marius Grazulis says each book has a personalized nameplate from the teacher that donated it, and he hopes students interested in a particular book seek out the teacher who donated it and ask why that book is one of their favorites.

Thirty negaunee teachers contributed books.

Many of them chipped in more than one, and the Education Association hopes participation will only increase in the future.
