Dickinson Co. mobile meth lab
Three Dickinson County women are facing charges in connection with a mobile meth lab.
They are 22-year-old Samantha Marie Matson of Vulcan, 30-year-old Nicole Janae Strutz of Iron Mountain and 26-year-old Jennifer Lee LaCosse of Norway.
The Dickinson County Prosecutor’s Office and the KIND Drug Enforcement team say all three women are charged with operating or maintaining a meth lab.
LaCosse and Matson are also charged with manufacturing methamphetamine.
LaCosse and Strutz are facing the additional charge of conspiracy to manufacture meth.
Strutz is charged as a habitual offender, fourth offense.
All three women have a preliminary exam scheduled for March 27th in 95-B District Court in Iron Mountain.
Police got a tip early Tuesday morning about a meth lab at 501 Sterling Street in Kingsford.
When Kingsford Public Safety officers and the Iron Mountain Police Department arrived, they smelled a strong odor that they believed was vapors or fumes from manufacturing meth.
Several people were evacuated from the premises without incident.
One woman was treated at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital and released.
The Prosecutor’s Office says officers found methamphetamine in the residence, as well as items that are used to produce the drug.
The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team cleaned up the scene and is helping the KIND Drug Enforcement Team in the investigation.
