One injured in car accident
A one car accident occurred on US–41 earlier this morning in Negaunee Township.
Eugene Mahaffey of Marquette was driving his red Ford Focus and lost control, slamming into a snow bank on the westbound side of US–41 near the Midway Industrial Park.
Troopers from the Michigan State police at the Negaunee Post say Mahaffey appeared to have suffered a medical event which caused him to lose control of his vehicle.
The Focus received heavy damage to the front end and had to be towed from the scene.
Mahaffey was transported to Marquette General Hospital by Medi–Ride EMS with non–life threatening injuries.
