Dancing for a cause

The Upper Peninsula Hospice Foundation proudly presents the very first “Dancing with the Stars Marquette County Style.”  Dancing with the Stars Marquette County Style will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Forest Roberts Theatre on the campus of Northern Michigan University.  Doors open at 5:30 PM with the show beginning at 7:00 PM.

Hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar will be provided. The fundraiser will benefit the Upper Peninsula Hospice Foundation and its programs.  100% of ALL monies raised will be donated back to Hospice patients and their families!

The Upper Peninsula Hospice Foundation supports countless hours of volunteer services from concerned families, community members and health care professionals who donate their time, talents, unused medical supplies and equipment to assist families in need.

The “Make-A-Memory” program is a mini-version of the nationally recognized Make-a-Wish Foundation.  Foundation funds have been used to support a variety of activities, including family reunions, fall color tours, fishing trips or building a wheelchair ramp to enable a family to be mobile once again.

Marquette County dance professionals have come together to help local “Stars” compete for the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy.  Local “Stars” will soon be practicing for the big event with online video updates of their progress.

There will also be a Fan Favorite Award given the evening of the performance to the “Star” couple that collects the most online votes from March 11, 2013 through May 22, 2013 at www.uphomehealth.org.
