Snowmobile accident updates

The Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Department has additional information available about a pair of snowmobile accidents.

The first accident happened shortly after 5 pm last Friday just off of Trail #1 in Silver City, near County Road 107.

Police say 26-year-old Cassaundra Campbell of Montello, Wisconsin was doing figure-eights near a utility pole.

She struck one of the guy wires attached to the utility pole.

Campbell was treated at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital for minor injuries, and she has since been released.

The other accident took place shortly after 9 pm Saturday on Trail #12 in Ontonagon, near Noble Road.

Thirty-year-old Caidey Berram of Rockwell, Iowa lost control on a curve, left the trail and hit a tree.

After initially being taken to Aspirus Ontonagon, she was airlifted to Aspirus Wausau Hospital for further treatment.

There’s no word on her current condition.

Police believe high speed was a factor in Berram’s accident.
