Atlantic Mine Mega Millions winner
An Atlantic Mine woman has come forward to claim the prize from a Mega Millions lottery drawing earlier this month.
Judy Juntunen won $19 million in the February 5th drawing.
At a news conference in Lansing this afternoon, Judy said her granddaughter told her the morning after the drawing that Festival Foods in Houghton had sold the winning ticket.
That’s where Judy had bought her ticket, so she double-checked the numbers, and sure enough, she matched all of them.
She’s not sure what she’ll do with most of the money, but she did say she needs a new four-wheel drive vehicle.
Judy will take a lump sum of just under $13.9 million dollars before taxes.
Festival Foods will also receive a $50,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
