Mqt. Co. Board hears report from Circuit Ct.

The Marquette County Board of Commissioners discussed a number of items at their meeting Tuesday night.

The board heard a report from Circuit Court Judge Jennifer Mazzuchi.  Mazzuchi said that the court is creating a concurrent jurisdiction plan to be finalized by next year.  She said that in Lansing, they are looking for ways to combine courts, whether it be using the same jurisdiction or combining employees from different courts.

The commission approved a grant for a new IP logger and archiving interface system for the Marquette County Central Dispatch.  The system would benefit six dispatch centers in the U.P.  The dispatch centers include Negaunee Regional Dispatch, and five counties: Delta, Dickinson, Iron, Menominee and Marquette.

The commission decided to discuss the county’s strategic plan at the March 26 meeting.  They also gave two appreciation resolutions to two former commissioners:  Nick Joseph and Charles Bergdahl.
