Army Veteran welcomed home to the U.P.
U.S. Army and Vietnam Veteran Carl Wisse arrived at the Delta County Airport to a surprise celebration this afternoon. His family had arranged for the U.P. Chapter of the Michigan Patriot Guard to welcome him ‘home’ to the U.P.
Living in Georgia with his health on the decline, Wisse told family members his last wish was to visit them. The family reached out to the Patriot Guard Riders. The group, known for motorcycle escorts as military members return from duty and for funeral processions, was joined by several other organizations at the airport, including the Vietnam Veteran – Chapter 345 of Escanaba, Disabled American Veterans – Chapter 24 of Escanaba, Marine Corps League of Delta County and the American Legion – Post 82
