NMU job fair

Even though graduation for college seniors is still a few months away, it’s not too early to start looking for jobs.

More than 50 employers came to the job fair at Northern Michigan University this afternoon.

Students were able to get information on dozens of careers from marketing to business to communications.

Staff from Six Flags Great America made the trip, and their HR supervisor, Bethany Painter, says she’s confident they’ll find some amazing candidates.

NMU Career Services director Jim Gadzinski says many of the employers present today aren’t looking for degreed students yet; they were searching for summer help and interns.

One of the most important things students should remember for attending job fairs is to come prepared.

Gadzinski says they need to research which companies will attend a fair and they need to bring resumes.

Current NMU students and even a few high school students attended the career fair.

Besides looking for interns, some of the employers were interested in part-time and full-time workers.
