Winning lotto ticket sold in Houghton

Someone purchased a $19 million lottery ticket in the Copper Country.  The Michigan Lottery has confirmed that the winning ticket to last night’s Mega Millions jackpot was purchased at Festival Foods in Houghton.  Lottery officials contacted the store’s owners early this morning.

The actual winner of the ticket has not been verified yet so you may want to check your ticket just in case.   After the winner has been identified, that person will then have to travel to Lansing to claim their prize.

According to the Michigan Lottery, the last time a Mega Millions jackpot winning ticket was sold in the U.P. was in 2010.
