Names released in fatal Delta County accident
The names of the people involved in the fatal car accident in Delta County on Tuesday morning have been released.
The Delta County Sheriff’s Department says that 19–year–old Lukas Sanville of Cornell died in the crash. The teenager was the passenger in a pickup truck driven by his father, 47–year–old Ronald Sanville.
Police say the accident happened at 8:45 a.m. yesterday on County Road 426 in Escanaba Township, six miles south of Cornell.
Police say the driver was heading south on 426 when he hit another truck parked partially on the roadway.
The teenager died on impact, and the elder Sanville was taken to OSF St. Francis Hospital for treatment of a head injury. He is listed in good condition.
No one was inside the parked truck. Rampart EMS, the Escanaba Township Fire Department and Michigan State Police assisted at the scene.
