Elected officials academy in Marquette
Public officials from across the U.P. got a refresher course Tuesday on how to handle some of the aspects of their jobs.
The Elected Officials Academy took place at Lakeview Arena in Marquette all day Tuesday.
Representatives from several Marquette County communities were there, along with counterparts from Iron County, Ontonagon County and elsewhere.
They were trained on how to follow public requests for government information under the Freedom of Information Act.
The seminar also included training on the guidelines of the Michigan Open Meetings Act, as well as several other areas.
The Northern Michigan Public Service Academy holds the seminar once a year.
