One killed in Delta Co. accident
One person was killed and one injured this morning in Delta County when a vehicle hit a parked pickup truck.
According to the Delta County Sheriff’s Office, it happened at 8:45 a.m. on County Road 426, six miles south of Cornell in Escanaba Township.
Police say a 47-year-old man was driving a pickup truck southbound on 426 when he hit another truck partially parked along the road.
The driver was injured, his 19-year-old passenger was killed on impact.
No one was inside the parked truck.
Assisting at the scene was Rampart EMS, Escanaba Township Fire Department and Michigan State Police.
Names of those involved have been released.
